We care about the environment, and we care about the Dolomites – this small piece of the world that has become a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We know that protecting them is both a duty and a necessity. That’s why we are committed to valuing them, sharing their significance, and ensuring that their unique yet fragile beauty is respected.
The ladins
The Dolomites as heritage
"Ai ci belëza..!" – One of the first Ladin expressions I noticed. Do you know why? Because Ladins say it all the time – especially one in particular: my father-in-law, Luis. How beautiful! After a fresh snowfall – How beautiful! The Sas dla Crusc at sunset – How beautiful! Meadows covered in crocuses or dandelions, or autumn setting the larches on fire with its warm colors. This is the respect and devotion that Ladins feel for their valley – a love that makes them the first guardians of this World Heritage.

Respecting nature also means preserving traditions. Those who know this valley understand the strong sense of community among Ladins and their deep commitment to safeguarding their culture. The Ladin language is alive, traditional attire is worn with pride, the local brass band welcomes new generations, and religious processions and Ladin cuisine tell a story of devotion, ancient flavors, and deeply rooted identity.

Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the preservation of fire." — Gustav Mahler
